| ||A kinda normal trail using Canyon Park and environs. ||597||95/127|
| ||A little misty for the ride this morning. ||48||108/126|
| ||My truck is finally done, so rode to pick it up. ||94||109/126|
| ||A bit of chilly drizzle on the morning. Not quite soaked and not quite dry. ||33||91/108|
| ||It got misty again right when I was getting ready to ride home.
So, kept it short and went straight home. ||88||104/117|
| ||They are still waiting on parts for my tranny, so I still ride ||39||98/110|
| ||Had to stop on the way home to inflate my front tire. It burped going of a curb, such a nothing move.
Pump I haven't used in a couple of years didn't seem to be working, so had to burn a CO2. ||92||102/112|
| ||Another CX ride to work without my truck. ||30||92/111|

| ||Tax day, but that is delayed - same as my truck getting fixed, so ride I do. ||129|
| ||Took the south side of Serrano Creek home. Looks like the stables have a new locked gate, but I snuck through. Might be a future hindrance. ||84||101/121|

| ||Had to drop the truck off at the tranny shop for a very expensive repair. Walked home. Did some banking and got lunch on way. ||313||84/105|
| ||A stupid hard ride this Rock Cobbler thing is. I did the shorter Pebble version. Kinda last minute decision to use my MTB instead of my CX bike. Very good decision, CX bike just doesn't have the gearing or brakes that I needed. Some very tough climbs, some HAB for me for portions. Day started cool, but ended up mid 80's - not all that bad.
Nice lunch (dinner at 3:30?) back at the end. Tritip and some local beers.
Everyone got a celebratory hatchet at the finish - how strange is that? Overall winners got full on axes. ||1919||116/143|

Ran into two other friends coming down as they went up at 3 because one of them won't ride in the dark.

Did see a seal out there also. ||463||81/99|
| ||Just three of us for a Holiday paddle in Huntington Harbor. Started from Trinidad, a first for me. Did some loops and went by some new channels to me. Decent day and fun paddling. ||510||79/108|

| ||Heard that the Peters Canyon Trail undercrossing of the RR tracks was open. Not really. Went around a fence on the west side and then had to shimmy and lift my bike over a fence on the east side. Saw it might actually be 18 months to truly open this 50 yard stretch.

Overall, a nice start to hopefully a better year. ||746||88/123|
| ||Late afternoon doggie walk. ||108||88/99|
| ||Last ride of the year and made it my longest of the year. Not very long in this weird year.
Explored some recently completed MUP trails with one yet to be complete connection on the Peters Canyon Trail. Stupid bureaucracy keeping it closed. ||729||109/132|
| ||Still doing it. Nice day out just before this horrible year ends. ||722||96/118|

| ||A group of 10 (easy to social distance on 10+ ft boards) of us went for a night paddle out in Naples to see the Xmas lights. My first night paddle and it was really fun. Weather was actually pretty good for being in the low 60's. More night paddling to come. ||366||77/97|
| ||Not so chilly yet still chilly. Got three of us to ride again. ||557||98/130|
| ||A weirdly warm day. And a weird ride. Another close encounter with a skunk, and a few areas with skunk orders. A couple of raccoons sighted and two Sheriff's Deputies closing off the trail. They let me pass but said nothing was going on. Yeah, right - Deputies don't just hang out at night on the trail. ||575||101/129|

On the way to the park I saw a flock of wild turkeys feeding on the grass in an industrial park.
Went around downtown and checked out a few places. ||326||99/119|

| ||A tired Friday ride to end the week. Just felt weak. And a dead truck battery at the end just added to the fun. ||591||98/123|

| ||Finally cool enough in the evening for a decent walk. ||72||76/89|
| ||Another good day out paddling. Not sure how many more we'll be able to get in with good weather. ||1028||94/117|

| ||Some friends came from Vegas and some from LB and we distanced and SUP and Kayaked around. (Actually on 9/6) ||789||88/114|
| ||After Naples went looking for some other friends in Newport. Just found the stupid Trump flotilla. (Actually 9/6) ||674||112/140|
| ||On of our best runs of the year.
We run, have a water balloon fight to start and then run around Newport and swim across a few of the channels. Brought my dogs and they enjoyed the swims, but not the ladder climbs.
My girl dog has a bad knee, so we didn't actually run much.
Fun all around. ||421||96/113|

| ||A Laguna Hills/Nellie Gail jaunt. Hot AF, especially on those steep horse trail climbs. Cold beer helped. ||680||111/152|
| ||A hot and humid one. Cold beer helps. ||594||102/129|
| ||Not Over the Hump #4 (or #10) so just a ride on some dirt along Aliso Creek Trail ||685||108/133|
| ||Basically this, with a side trip to Woody's for a quick bite and drink. Dockside service is pretty cool, especially on a SUP. Some drama there, too - some "influencers" and trust funders causing havoc. ||711||91/128|
| ||Another socially distancing run. Had to hike most of it on steep hills. Another warm day, no surprise for August. Fun times. ||542||104/129|
| ||An old nail went in the tread and out the bead and into my rim. Stans did save the day with a bit of pumping. ||708||103/136|

Then met the others and we went around Linda and over to Bay Island. Then a stop at 10th St and Lido Bridge Beach.
Another good view of Invictus and a stop at Mama's. Food and drink service on the dock.
On the way back the blade of my paddle just sheared off. Of course, the blade immediately sank. Had to prone paddle about a mile and and a half back to Castaways. Fun day. ||860||94/161|
| ||Another pretty warm one. Took a shortcut to avoid Line Shack, 4.4 miles as it was - didn't need 7! ||423||87/130|
| ||Friday night ride on the dirt with a beer stop. After solving the world's problems; I decided to ride all the dirt options on the way back. Really worked by the end of it. Good times. ||766||100/146|
| ||MTB commutish again and this time we found some Modelo at our mid ride beer stop. Good times are back. ||684||99/126|
| ||Took the truck to the shop for brake work at lunch and didn't feel like paying $9 for the Lyft ride back. So, just walked back. Pretty warm. ||356|
| ||Another MTB commutish. Been seeing horse poop on the trail recently and finally saw two horses on trail tonight. ||716||101/130|
| ||MTB ride on a Monday. Didn't have much, but ride I did. Solved some world problems mid ride and then headed back. ||755||104/130|
| ||A small group paddle around Lido with stops at 10th St and the Lido Bridge. Lots of nice scenery out, landscape, boats, houses and people. Even the huge megayacht Invictus. An amazing yacht owned by a billionaire now moored off of Lido. Fun times. Other Comments||588||90/146|
| ||Went for a paddle with a small group. Took my normal route but got turned around and went a little bit of a different way. Ran into a Lifeguard friend on duty as well. Had some beerverages on Davenport as well. Fun times all around. ||475||85/121|
| ||MTB commutish and Brian made it out for the first time in a while. Much discussion of architects and plans and problems, over some beers. Nice long slow ride. ||1301||107/139|
| ||Went for a doggie walk and on the way looked for a geocache I've been trying to find for a bit. Finally found it, a bit of an evil hide. ||185|
| ||Nothing else planned, but the dogs do need walking. ||55|
| ||Tired, just tired. But ride we did. Pretty nice weather, right in the sweet spot. ||689||105/136|
| ||Not as hot as recently so got the dogs our for a walk. ||50||76/100|
| ||What a better thing to do on a really hot day than go to the water and paddle around. Refreshing and fun. ||452||93/120|
| ||Really freakin' hot. Due to steep and hot, not really running much - but it is supposed to be a run. Distanced and about 20 of us were there. Good to be out. ||678||103/132|
| ||Pretty warm night. Not so many people out as previous. Still struggling, but having fun. ||698||103/133|
| ||Another ride, with not too much energy. Still good to be out. ||598||98/126|
| ||Just a few of us paddling around. Planned on a North Star start, but it was closed. Headed a bit up the Upper Back Bay to explore new areas. Fun times on the water. ||438||91/108|
| ||Another group run without the group. Pretty warm for the 4th and a lot of hills for us. Such an odd 4th with all the pools closed and no groups. Good to be out and get a workout in. ||516||105/130|
| ||A bit of a pre holiday SUP before they possibly close the harbor beaches. A bit windy at the start, but not bad most of the way. Had a new kayaker who did alright, until he managed to fall off and deposit his phone at the bottom of the channel. Oooops. And, another managed to loose the skeg off his SUP and got the loosy goosy paddle back.
But, the beers were cold and the scenery nice. ||434||85/11|
| ||Pretty beat on the third day in a row and pretty stressed from work = I didn't have much. Still rode and had a few pops. Pre holiday fun. ||600||99/130|
| ||And now it's July. A drizzly morning and overcast day, but the sun came out in the late afternoon before our ride. ||583||98/162|
| ||Another MTB commutish. Feeling sluggish, hard days at work - and stressful with a few Covid positive coworkers. Still, good getting out. ||634||101/134|
| ||Got a bit of everything - wind, drizzle, clouds, some sun. Got out and paddled around Balboa and Lido. Good time out. ||520||89/112|
| ||Pretty hot day for a run. I was pretty beat from the ride the day before and couldn't run too much. Just got around the relatively long trail. Good to see some people out and about. ||613||95/122|
| ||Tried to do San Juan Trail for the first time. It was pretty dang hard. Pretty technical single track climbing for me. Those types of switchbacks always mess me up. Just past the switchbacks I fell over the side. Slid down about 20 feet down a steep hill with my bike on top of me.
Pretty hot day as well.
Between it all, my HR was spiking. Heat, climbing, and a lot of stress. I ended up walking probably 40% on the way up.
Took us a bit over two hours to go less than 3 miles. Then it came time to chuck it and turn around.
Downhill went much better than I expected. Struggled on the switchbacks and the rock gardens.
Maybe I'll go back some day, maybe not. ||1065||123/154|
| ||Just a nice evening to walk the dogs. Easy to social distance. ||50||79/98|
| ||Tired from the night before, but ride we did. Not hot, not cold. A pleasant evening. Even ran into Simon, a new friend riding with his son on a trail a bike. ||675||103/128|
| ||Came back to the Tuesday Night Ride after hearing it is back. It was easy for me to social distance as I got dropped. Some good hard efforts and suffering by me. ||701||122/143|
| ||Evening doggie walk. Saw a couple of small hawks on the ground. We got closer and they flew away into the trees, but stayed close. Maybe nesting or young? ||53||79/97|
| ||Summer Solstice ride - last full day of spring. Got a group together to ride to Beeks. 7 of us celebrated the changing of the seasons with our pagan rituals at Beeks. Pleasant weather and a fun time. ||1116||119/154|
| ||After a month of waiting for Specialized to fix their proprietary part; I finally got to ride my Epic again.
Nice evening out. ||654||99/131|
| ||Doggies need walking, nice evening for it. ||117||90/110|
| ||A handful of us got together to SUP and kayak. Pretty breezy morning. Head wind sucked coming back to Castaways.
Fun time out - lots of people on the water. ||413||91/118|
| ||Fairly warm day and fairly long trail. Felt good to see a few people out.
Also saw a huge snake at the Nature Park, not a rattler but 5 feet long. ||654||104/132|
| ||Had a day off to go to a group camping event - well, that didn't happen.
Got a couple of more guys to go SUP with me. Went around Linda, to the Dunes then North Star. Some wind and current going back to Castaways as the tide was filling in.
At the Dunes ramp we saw either Customs or Coasties checking boats at the ramp. They had a cool go fast boat - it had 4 x 250 hp engines.
Add in some beers on the beach and a fun morning off. ||409||94/120|
| ||MTB commute and I went for the CX bike. Only one HAB, and some slower descents. Eric's Bday - so we stopped for a couple of celebratory beers.
Saw a skunk on the way back. I think it tried to spray me - but it backed up to the wall - 180 degrees from me. ||778||106/142|
| ||Hot one, but we rode. Wondered where everyone was, didn't see many on the trails - until near sunset when the hordes came out.
A day for wildlife - quail, ducks, rabbits, geese, coyotes, a skink? ||749||105/139|
| ||Very hot day and not riding after work. Might as well take out the SUP. First ever post work SUP. Pretty windy, so I tried to head upwind, but got a lot of side headwind. Seemed both ways.
Did a couple of short legs and came in. Just a couple of miles, nice to be out. ||279||105/120|
| ||Nice casual SUP in Huntington Harbor. Ran into an old friend on the water, what are the odds? ||316||82/106|
| ||A nice ride around Long Beach environs stopping for an occasional beer. Nice day to be out. ||565||99/129|
| ||Mostly dirt in an odd overcast cool day. Halfway in I got a nasty screw in my rear tire. Stans saved the day and made it all the way back. ||676||100/132|
| ||Global Running Day and Cycling Day on the same day? Well, me and the dogs tried to run. Intervals of 90s on/120 off. Had to shut it down halfway thru as my girl dog has too many leg issues. Think I have to shut her down for running completely. ||355||99/136|
| ||Back on the MTB for the commutish ride. Checked out a bit of the Laguna Niguel Botanical Preserve. On the way back, saw a single quail near the sewage plant - first time for that in this area.
Humid out, kinda tropical. ||711||101/136|

| ||A really Gray May Day. Sun finally came out late afternoon and had some of that until riding into the Gray again. At least it's Friyay! ||451||94/126|
| ||Not as hot and even overcast most of the way. Soo many people out walking, truly amazing numbers. ||506||101/129|
| ||Have the day off, so trying to get a doggie walk in before it gets too hot. ||53||71/94|
| ||Road bike again, MTB still in the shop. Pretty dang warm - mid ride cold beer was really nice. ||551||103/130|
| ||A pleasant evening doggie walk. ||87||88/105|
| ||SUP starting from Lower Castaways up to Northstar and then back to Lower Castaways. Then around Linda Isle and Harbor Isle. Windy and rough in the main channel in front of Harbor Isle, got a workout there. Fun times. ||360||96/117|
| ||Took the doggies out for a walk before heading out for a ride. ||44||73/97|
| ||Met DangerDirtyD from IMTB to get a bar from him. Met his friend Chris to get in a ride. I figured 8-10 miles or so and brought 1 bottle, no pack. We rode a while and met another bud, Doug who had already run 10 miles in the morning. More thoughts of a short ride by me.
DDD wants to ride a lot. We went up and down a lot of the Arroyo and he even had ideas of the Luge. Uh, no.
Rode up to O'Neill and back and then Waterworks again after doing it and Spitfire before. Probably a dozen creek crossings as well.
I was really beat by the time we were all done.
Good day of riding. ||1307||120/152|

| ||Another MTB commutish ride. More parks are open and more people about doing social things. ||690||102/151|
| ||Finishing up the last in a 6 run virtual race series. 6 miles and I added a little to pass 10k as well.
Serrano Creek trail to Whiting gate.
A nice comfortable evening for a run. ||894||132/144|

Did see a cool shed snakeskin though. ||632||100/131|
| ||Fourth day in a row on the MTB and feeling it. Pretty sore.
Then, my bike started making a squish squish sound. Turns out my rear shock has died. Less than a year and only about 500 miles. Seems the Brain is not so smart. Now gotta see about getting it to the shop and the shock sent out. No good MTB for a few weeks. ||568||96/136|
| ||Another warm, but not as hot. Beat from 3 days in a row. ||580||96/145|

| ||Another dark commute. Not as cold as I thought it would be. Detour around part of the Aliso Creek Trail at I-5 for a bit. Tried to beat the rain on the way back. Beat the rain, not the sprinkles. ||529||98/124|
| ||OC Craft Runners finally brought their run close to home. Joined them in a big group, about 50 or so. I kept a slow, manageable pace and came in near the back. Good beer and food at Gamecraft. ||435||135/151|
| ||The mud was drying out and it was near hero dirt with some wet spots. Still not doing good, but managed to earn a fourth lap. ||542||141/155|
| ||Fairly muddy and cold day. Tough racing and fun. ||429||139/152|
| ||Just a doggie walk before the deluge. ||194|
| ||A well done course on a park that didn't seem like it could have one. Really didn't have it all. Oh well, still fun. ||549||142/157|
| ||Felt much warmer. Didn't have much and ankle was bugging - so not so fast. Fun times. ||517||91/127|
| ||A nice flat trail on a cold night. Rain stopped before we ran giving us good conditions. Small group, but we had fun and continued at Lamppost. ||382||92/138|
| ||Took our MTB's for some dirt commuting on this warm fall evening. Nice sunset. ||704||107/134|
| ||Really hot and windy. I really did not have anything, total crap. ||440||141/153|
| ||A really tough trail, super steep going up. Not much was actually runnable. Really hot as well. ||619||106/137|
| ||Just walking the dogs and exploring the El Chorro Campground and park. ||179|
| ||Pretty warm for a mid November day in SLO. Super bumpy course, rattled me pretty bad. Small fields, too bad more didn't come out. Was fun out there. Other Comments||418||132/148|
| ||First Monday Night Social after the time change. It was dark and pretty chilly. Food was very good at Cittadina afterwards. ||661||114/138|
| ||Warming up on the changed course, less hills, more technical stuff. Sessioned a bit to figure it out. ||245||102/128|
| ||Hard race, hill took a lot out of me. Still air and very hot up the hill as well. Technical bit was just bumpy and problematic. ||514||140/155|
| ||Warming up on the CX course. Some really steep and long hills for CX. First one was a tricky run up for most. ||428||111/145|
| ||Got much hotter for our race. The steep hills felt even worse. Not the best day for me, but a challenging course. ||512||142/154|

| ||Walking around with the doggies ||224|
| ||Hares messed up their trail, but it still ended up being a good one. Tough, too trying to go up Billy Goat Trail. Much cooler than Saturday. ||764||103/133|
| ||Pretty hot day in CDM. Not the best for wearing a foam shark suit, but a great day to have fun out in public. Nice Catalina views post Santa Anas. ||448||105/139|
| ||Halloween trail around the 17th street area of Costa Mesa. A small group, but we had some good fun. ||789|
| ||Eric and I came out to ride this again, and got Dan to show up for the first time. I was able to stay in contact longer than most times, basically to Sand Canyon. Then, dropped. Went a little bit on Portola Springs for the loop, but didn't know which way the group goes so headed back to the climb. Added about a half a mile. Good times and some nice, hard efforts. ||703||121/143|
| ||Day #2 of CX racing at March Field in MoVal. Course was slightly changed, but not enough for a new route.
Hurt a bunch after yesterday's race and running. Sleeping on the ground did not help. Back gave out after 2 1/2 laps and couldn't push hard after that. ||499||136/148|
| ||MoVal CX Day #1 Race. A totally flat course that would be better for me, but others can go fast on the flats, too.
Had fun riding out in the dirt. ||465||143/156|
| ||After all the racing was done, took the doggies for some exercise and ran a lap of the CX course. I need to run and so they do. ||303||135/144|
| ||Got there a bit late, but still got some time in circling trees on the grass. ||290||123/145|
| ||Monday Night Social out of the new Rock and Brews in Tustin. Got dropped early and solo'ed around.
Service was pretty spotty, wrong beers delivered and very slow. Still fun. ||562||117/151|
| ||Tough race on an old golf course. Had a good amount of climbing, made me suffer - but the course was fun. ||575||139/150|
| ||A very well laid trail by Curb Feeler. Totally kept the pack together. It was long, but a good one all the way. ||548||90/120|
| ||A nice trail led by Pedalfile. Small group, just four of us following along. Good mix of horse trails and greenbelt and some streets. Good stop at Wise Guys to split a pitcher. Fun night. ||451||91/129|
| ||far too long of a run. A total cluster on where to park delayed us about 40 minutes. Two tunnels on trail, one about .4 miles and one about 1.3 miles that took over 30 minutes to get through. Only about 8 of us ran, and I was the only one to do the whole thing and not bail. A long night out. ||735||99/168|
| ||Monday Night Social ride from TAPS brewery in Tustin. Got dropped early enough but enjoyed the solo ride once the climbing was done. Nice food and beer and afterwards. ||583||118/136|
| ||Casual ride from NB to HB for the airshow. Nice beach day, it was a car show, an air show, a motorcycle show, a bike show and a bikini show all wrapped up in one. ||918||92/119|
| ||Warming up for the CX race, bunnyhopped poorly on a curb and totally endo'd. Bent shifter and thumb and a few scrapes. ||317||95/123|

| ||A nice Friday night for out commutish ride. ||596||101/133|
| ||Another walk to a Ducks game from the train and back. Ducks win! |

| ||Been a while since we've done the longer walk, Need to do this much more often for both me and the dogs. ||158|
| ||The rain held off for our group paddle. It was overcast, yet still a nice day for a paddle. Post paddle BBQ with brats and some Marzen was very nice, the sun even came out. ||487||102/135|
| ||Prelaying the trail for the run. A bit slow carrying all the supplies and laying marks. Pack enjoyed it and the tunnel. Success! ||484||101/126|
| ||Organized an Autumnal Equinox Ride to continue my tradition of doing BStar rides on the Equinoxes and Solstices. Let's celebrate the seasons. Got about a dozen tonight. Bye Bye Summer. ||1109||110/138|
| ||Just a bit of exploring in the area. ||279||96/127|
| ||Just about the end of summer. We decided to take our MTB's out on the normal commute and hit most of the dirt. ||774||101/131|
| ||Not as hot as recently, but I was beat from the last two days on group rides. Spending time circling trees. ||508||120/139|
| ||Rode hard last night and got shelled pretty early on this 15 mph ride that goes 20 mph. A nice evening ride otherwise. By skipping the little sprint loop, caught up on the hill. Then rode back with the group. ||715|
| ||Went on the MNS ride again, a bit fast for me, but I mostly hung on. Not so hot as recently. Fun dinner after. ||609||115/143|
| ||Whew, another really hot one. Saw a good shortcut to shorten it a bit for me. One of my shoes blew up also, sucks, I had less than 100 miles on them. ||331||92/117|
| ||Another trail that was almost the exact same as we did 10 days ago. Except it was night time and not Africa hot. Fun times. 9/11, means many things to many people. Let's roll! ||549||97/134|
| ||Tuesday Night Ride. Hard pace again for a social pace. A little slower pace on the creek trail helped, but the droppage came a bit later. Caught up by skipping the bonus loops. Went hard again down the creek trail back. ||683||124/156|
| ||A really hot day out for a run. We went down a super steep DH trail from near Cholla down to El Toro. Don't know the name of it, but that thing was steep. Then hiked back up the hill into Aliso.
Not too much really runable between the steeps and the heat. ||631||105/128|
| ||Just tooling around scouting for a run. ||154||95/131|
| ||My first trip out in the new season for Gritters Cross. Man, I suck again. Slight course adjustment due to a new fence behind the school. Good to see some of the old crew again. ||427||119/142|
| ||Pretty hot day, though ended up a bit perfect. I was able to hang on a bit longer than usual. Small crowd. ||661||120/142|
| ||Rode bikes again to bootleg a concert. Alice in Chains and Korn. Got hassled by the same jerk cop at the venue. Spent most of the time near the train station. You can hear the music real well there. ||622||87/120|
| ||A pretty short run, but we had some good hills and stairs. A small but very fun group to hang out with after at Heroes. ||309||89/123|

| ||Pretty hot day for our Saturday run. Small group, but we had fun. ||588||98/141|
| ||Rode the CX bike over to bootleg the Lynryd Skynyrd concert at Five Points. Took the creek trail, but not enough dirt to call it a dirt ride.
Cops harassed me for being at the parking lot - they are just jerks.
Spent most of the time at the train station, you can actually hear the music pretty good there. ||438||98/129|
| ||Had to park at the Selva lot to walk over to the concert in the park. Got a walk in. ||147|
| ||After watching the Tijuana Dogs tear it up at Salt Creek with some friends, did the walk back to where I parked. Dogs and I had a good time. ||154|
| ||Over the Hump #11 Race. Didn't really have it tonight, but did get two beer hand ups, so that's a good thing.
Post race slip n slide event was fun to watch.
Always fun out at the lake. ||449||137/150|
| ||Big group gathering for the IMTB crew. Also got introduced to the water tank extra credit, too much gravel, though it would be a nice view on a clearer day.
Huge lunch at Heroes afterwards, thanks to Grego. ||804||114/147|
| ||IRC docent led ride, don't poach. We got a foggy start which was real nice. Got sun just as we finished the big climb. Small group made for a fun ride.
Very warm by the end. ||612||112/145|
| ||One of our most fun runs of the year. Starts with a water balloon fight and then we run by the bay and swim across channels a few times. Brought my dogs and they enjoyed the swims as well. The guy with the pirate house loves us. Gives us wine when we stop by. ||359||96/158|
| ||Another warm day out racing by the lake. Had a guy crash in front of me about a quarter mile in, my avoidance led to my own crash and a burp. Not bad, got going again and on the second lap reeled in about a half dozen from my class. Felt pretty good about that, just took a lot of hard efforts. Mucho fun.
10th Anniversary for OTH. They've had 120 races and I've done 101. Other Comments||405||140/157|
| ||Nice, easy summer evening ride. Not hot. not cool. Plenty of daylight. Good ride. ||384||96/135|
| ||Another fun evening pushing it out at the lake. ||422||139/156|
| ||Our normal commute ride on a very warm night with a stop for a band. Called The Answer, not sure what the question is, but we still had fun. A couple of beers and some classic rock on a very nice evening. ||667||99/129|
| ||Only about a dozen showed up to brave the wild barrios of Orange. We had a good time, though I had a few issues that slowed me. ||259||93/119|
| ||Got to OTH early enough to get a decent warm up in. Pretty warm, but not hot. ||276||111/132|

Warm do and tried to push, but that big climb hurt. ||635||141/157|
| ||Our ride the previous day was so good we decided to do it again. This time we also took Downtown down to town and then our condo. Super fun. ||395||119/141|
| ||We got a group to shuttle the Mt View Trail. Much fun and much flow, with some climbs that hurt at altitude. ||267||106/129|
| ||Trail was out along Owens River Road. Running through sage and some pine forests. Ground was too hot for the dog's feet so we had to take it easy. Did have a good couple of creek crossings. Also a lot of ATV's out there. ||541||106/124|
| ||Took my dogs on the trail, have to mostly walk because of the girl with the bum knee. The meadow was very cool. Lots of nice new condos.
Cut it short when they went in the golf course and headed back. ||343||101/128|
| ||Whew, a HOT one. Almost 90 at the start and humid.
Suffered and had fun, pushing hard near the lake. Good to be bake. ||442||135/147|
| ||We got a big group together for this one, almost thirty. About half kayaked and half SUPed. Not that far since we have a lot new to the activities. Quite a headwind on the way back. I fell off once and didn't notice that my gopro fell out of my pocket. It had a float, but I never saw it again. ||308||98/119|
| ||Rode the MTB's so took most of the dirt options on the trail and a few other trails nearby. Stopped to watch the 80's All Stars at Crown Valley and then went on. Took less of the dirt options on the way back, but still took a few. ||1022||108/128|
| ||The Fenians were playing a free concert in Mason Park, so might as well get in a bit of a ride to go see them. Good fun on a very nice evening. ||309||104/128|
| ||A fairly long trail for a Wednesday Hump run. Kinda cool stop with an outside kitchen area stop near Verizon. Such a Silicon Valley type outdoor work lounge. ||438||93/135|
| ||Last TNR for a bit for me. Eric had an epic blowout right at the beginning, so I got gapped big. Rode solo for most of it before taking a slight detour on the hill to catch up. Good to push hard. ||586||116/141|
| ||Just a lazy Sunday morning dog walk |
| ||Moon the Amtrak day. Couldn't do the whole trail as we couldn't get by the sewage plant. Went through some real tough stuff along the creek. Fun day all around. ||213||83/120|
| ||7-11 is free Slurpee day, so I planned out a route with 5 potential 7-11 stops. We skipped one, got one and then made a stop at a brewery. The next 7-11 was a madhouse, so we skipped it and made it to the next just before the 7pm ending time. Rode right by the last one at 7:15 and went back to the vehicles for a post ride beer.
Total of two Slurpees and two beers for a nice, casual ride on a hot night. ||453||102/133|
| ||Was able to stay with the group a bit longer than recently. Then, got dropped but caught them when they did an extra loop. Lost touch again and then did the Orchard Hills Loop. Finally caught towards the end with a really big effort. Good, hard work. ||679||121/144|
| ||A normal kind of trail into Whiting, just not very well marked. Fun anyways ||647||100/125|

| ||Loving the walk to and from the 5k from home, so convenient ||105||88/104|
| ||Decent trail and nice weather for a run pre fourth evening. Nice stop at a dive bar as well. ||358||93/120|
| ||Since three of us just got new MTB's we decided to use them on our commutish ride and go through Aliso Woods. Rock-It was the choice, my first time. Couldn't make all of it. Then more dirt options to finish the ride. Tough, but fun times. ||1021||111/135|
| ||Monday Night Social from Foothill to Aliso Woods on the Aliso Creek Trail. It was easy and social on the way down, then going back up I got dropped. Fun times later with Italian food. ||607||109/140|
| ||IRC ride with some adventure. Augustine to the sinks and then on to the water tank. Past the Bolero Radio Tower we ran into Goathead city. A few people with tubes double flatted twice. Lots of time to fix those. The rest of us tubeless just kept going on. Also, the docents ran in to a couple of trespassers - apparently they were pretty belligerent and said only a helicopter could catch them and rode on.
Got pretty warm as well.
Adventure all around. ||908||120/147|
| ||Hey, the sun came out. Made our ride less gloomy ||446||100/125|
| ||Started cool but then got warmer. Good day out in Anaheim Hills. Saw a real fat rattlesnake; it's been eating well out there in Deer Canyon Park. ||534||103/136|
| ||I organized another Summer Solstice Ride up to Beeks and Summer did not show up. Misty, foggy breezy and cool. Did get 17 to show up and we had fun anyways, though there was no sun to see set. ||1008||113/136|
| ||A decent little trail mostly through Central Park in HB. Fun times ||305||98/121|
| ||Back to the Tuesday Night Ride after the first half of OTH. Really fast pace, got dropped early and barely caught on at the top of the hill - only to be dropped again once it flattened out. A good hard workout. ||576||114/142|
| ||A bit of a stand up paddle event in Newport Harbor. Took a while for everyone to get their rentals together, but then we went and had fun. ||647||101/119|
| ||Commutish ride and new bike day for Jeff. I saw a roadrunner on the way back, but no coyote this night. ||414||97/122|
| ||Irvine Ranch Conservancy ride; can only go docent led - don't poach this. Been a long time since I've done this route. A few of the ups had me walking. A fun, fast downhill down Fremont Canyon as the sunset ended. ||760||122/149|
| ||Pretty hot out at the lake. But, it was new bike day and it's fun to suffer! ||429||141/152|
| ||Soaked took us on a tour of Boyle Hts, Lincoln Hts, Downtown and what other places I do not now. Fun times with a bunch of friends. ||778||109/133|
| ||A trail on a pretty warm day and some steep hills. Fun time in Old San Juan. ||572||106/134|
| ||First ride on my new MTB. Did the normal commute and took a few dirt options. So did Eric and even Jeff rode a MTB so we all were pretty much equally slow. Good times. ||671||104/131|
| ||1 1/2 laps for us beginner classes. Up on the single track climb once and descending the fire road and then a shorter lap. Good times all around. ||553||141/154|
| ||A bit easier trail, mostly following trails in some minor drainages. Obviously established trails, just not official. ||434||112/129|
| ||A really difficult trail, total bushwhacking around. Saw some hikers that mentioned a couple of nearby waterfalls but we never saw them. Did see some old pipes and and what looked to be troughs. ||495||106/129|
| ||A problematic race for me. Rear tire was not holding air. Actually stopped at my truck twice to air up. Then, at the farthest point from the start, gathered some staples and had no sealant left. Long walk back. ||438||121/145|
| ||Signed up for the 10k but dropped down to the 5k with the foot problems. My slowest on record, had to walk a bit. A fair enough time for my recent fitness and my foot. Cool weather, not typical Memorial Day weather. ||425||132/143|
| ||Walked back from the 5k, a bit slowly. ||168||93/109|
| ||Ended up missing trail thru a tunnel, so missed about 3 miles. Was surprised it was so short; but generally OK with my foot pain and not being able to run much. ||259||125/95|
| ||A decently warm evening before the Holiday weekend, which is forecasted to suck. I was really slow, gotta get it together. ||392||96/128|
| ||A decent trail after a weird May downpour. Still have foot problems, so the running was not so good. 10k on Monday is gonna be ugly. ||255||90/109|
| ||Reverse route for the race this week. More winter weather than late spring. Cool and windy. Still fun pushing out at the lake. ||464||134/146|
| ||Ptetty much the same route, slightly different start. Tough ride, not being in shape sucks. Saw dozens of riders I know out there, as well as few dozen I recognize but don't know. Everyone in SoCal cycling was out there it seems. Even saw Bill Walton riding the other way.
Lots of fun hanging out at Cookie Corner with Phil Gaimon and a few hundred other people. ||2464||126/149|
| ||Second week of Over the Hump. Seems I burped a bit and ended up with only one lap. DNF ||364||133/149|
| ||A goof trail for Wild Bill and Alouttes 30th Anniversary. A few more old timers came out as well. Fun day, even though it was tough to run as my foot was killing me. ||595||98/127|
| ||With a chance of rain, we went for our rain bailout ride. Dan joined us and we chatted a bit. Went for the coast contest on the way down. A decent night. ||352||104/136|
| ||Still having foot problems. Only got to run parts of it. Nice trail and group for fun on a May Gray night. ||339||98/122|
| ||First race of the new OTH season. Didn't have all that much in me, got passed by sooo sooo many. Still fun to push hard out by the lake (it has water!!!) ||521||138/152|
| ||Monday Night Social ride from the Great Park up to Irvine-Portola-Alton-Sand Canyon. Mostly off the back, but mostly managed to be with the group. Good, hard work. Fun at Left Coast Brewery afterwards. ||547||123/145|
| ||Got foot problems, so couldn't run all that much. Fun trail out in the Arroyo. ||572||100/137|
| ||Commutish ride, had no energy - still feeling weak from being sick. Even got passed by a kid on a skateboard. ||495||100/123|
| ||Annual trip to Napa. Only got one ride in. Headed down to check out the marsh area and found Green Island. Ended up seeing an Osprey nest with both adults and one of them had a fish. Pretty cool. ||882|
| ||Been sick for a week or so and went out to the Tuesday Night Ride for my last chance until late June due to OTH. Got dropped pretty early, every time I got close to catching on I'd miss a light. I missed more than I made. Finally caught the tail end with a few miles to go. Good day to go work hard. ||674||121/141|
| ||IRC ride out of Irvine Park. Docent led ride, don't do this on your own. This ride went up Fremont Canyon past the weather station and then up Blind Canyon to Mini Moab. A bit tough for me, but a good ride. Had some brake issues coming back, sounded like something was gonna grenade. ||1286||131/156|
| ||Walking the dogs to calm down before sending the IRS 10k ||154|
