04/11/21 - Excellent weather again. Today's ride was designed to explore and discover a single track trail in Chino Hills State Park found in Google Earth. My ride was a success because i rode it and it was amazingly nice.

04/11/21 - A stupid hard ride this Rock Cobbler thing is. I did the shorter Pebble version. Kinda last minute decision to use my MTB instead of my CX bike. Very good decision, CX bike just doesn't have the gearing or brakes that I needed. Some very tough climbs, some HAB for me for portions. Day started cool, but ended up mid 80's - not all that bad.
Nice lunch (dinner at 3:30?) back at the end. Tritip and some local beers.
Everyone got a celebratory hatchet at the finish - how strange is that? Overall winners got full on axes.

04/10/21 - HT - nice temps today. Not many out there on bikes today. Got feet wet in a few deep stream crossings in the arroyo. Extra credit as started at Beebe park so climbing out of the arroyo at the end ain't fun.

03/07/21 - Great weather for mountain biking. (And hiking too) Today's goal was to explore LAVIDA Road towards the south after its junction with Olinda Road. LaVida road is closed about one mile from the junction because of a cattle farm established there. Years ago i was able to descend to Carbon Canyon Road using a very nice single track existing on the west side of that particular hill. No more.

02/28/21 - Decided to take advantage of the demo bike I had and see if my legs would have enough to do Harding-Jopiln. Haven't done a ride like that in a long time. The wind was crazy out there today but legs felt good. Unfortunately not far from reaching 4 Corners I realized I had a leak in the rear tire. Tires were setup tubeless and there was no sealant in the tire. Even worse I realized I did not have a tube. I had everything else in my backpack. I had not seen any other riders and knew I was facing a long walk down. Luckily OC Fire Authority was out there. We tried to fix the flat but couldn't find the hole. They ended up giving me the "ride of shame" all the way back down to my car. Really nice guys and saved the day for me.
